The creator of this liquor, Bill Samuels Sr, set out with a simple plan: to produce a bourbon that was big on flavour but free from the signature whiskey burn. By using subtle red winter wheat instead of rye, Maker’s Mark succeeded in devising a spirit with no bitterness or heat, delicious over ice and perfect for mixing.
Distilled at low proofs, this bourbon retains rich flavour and complex depth during its three-year maturation in classic charred oak casks. When tastes of butterscotch, cinnamon, and toasted almond are at their peak, Maker’s Mark is bottled in premium glassware and sealed with their standout red wax topper.
Perfect Serve – The warm sweetness of Maker’s Mark is the ideal base for an Old Fashioned. To make, mix 1 teaspoon of brown sugar with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters and a splash of water, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add 2 shots of Maker’s Mark and top with soda water.
