Annually released every year beginning as far back as 2002, Brown-Forman’s Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is one of those quaffs you truly can’t wait to savor. Old Forester’s 2017 Birthday Bourbon is a prime example of such a sip – composed of a total of 120 12 year old barrels from various parts of the Forman warehouse.

Containing a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% barley, this rich bourbon is estimated to have a release yield of roughly 18,600 bottles with varying finished barrel strengths from 95.4 to 96% proof. The nose opens with layers of roasted caramel, vanilla bean, and hints of spice seasoned over charred oak. On the palate are waves of charred wood, baking spices, and melted chocolate smothered over dark fruits.
